Less than 24 hours after winning the national championship, the Ohio State Buckeyes are the hot betting pick to repeat as the college football national champions in 2015. In the early odds released by Bovada on Tuesday, the Buckeyes are listed as 6/1 favorites to capture the national championship again.
The Buckeyes are listed as 6/1 favorites to capture the national championship again. With most the team slated to return in 2015, the Buckeyes are expected to collect another trophy for Urban Meyer next season.
The biggest question comes at quarterback for the Buckeyes. Injured starter Braxton Miller said he is undecided on whether or not he will return next season. Backup J.T. Barrett, who fractured his ankle late in the season, said he does not plan to transfer. Third-string quarterback Cardale Jones said he is not ready to jump to the NFL despite leading the team to the national title this season.
Right behind Ohio State on the list are the TCU Horned Frogs at 15/2. With quarterback Trevone Boykin returning, it's no surprise that the Horned Frogs are expected to contend next season after narrowly missing out on the inaugural College Football Playoff.
As for the rest of the group, the Alabama Crimson Tide are up next with 10/1 odds. The Tide were the top seed in the College Football Playoff, but they lost in the Sugar Bowl to the Buckeyes.
