Florida State quarterback Everett Golson (concussion) will not play Saturday against Syracuse, and redshirt junior Sean Maguire will start, the school announced a few hours before kickoff.

Golson, a transfer from Notre Dame, has started every game this season for the Seminoles. He sustained a head injury in the school’s loss to Georgia Tech last week, and Maguire practiced with the starters on Thursday as a result.

The Seminoles are already without starting running back Dalvin Cook due to an ankle injury, and will also be missing starting center Ryan Hoefeld. In total, the school will have five starters absent.

Florida State (6–1) and Syracuse (3–4) meet at Noon ET.
