Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh was critical of Tennessee coach Butch Jones in a tweet.
Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh fired back at Tennessee coach Butch Jones with a tweet on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Jones tweeted at Michigan State‘s Mark Dantonio and Arkansas’s Bret Bielema, jokingly asking the two if he could join them for lunch. Dantonio and Bielema had joked about meeting for lunch at the IMG Academy in Florida, where Harbaugh has been hosting spring practices, much to the consternation of other coaches and conference administrators.
Harbaugh has repeatedly referenced his critics on Twitter, and did the same with Jones, who Harbaugh told to focus on his own program.
Suggestion to my Rocky Top colleague, rather than lunch in Florida you might spend your time and focus attending to your present team.— Coach Harbaugh (@CoachJim4UM) March 3, 2016
While the initial part of Harbaugh’s tweet is clear, it’s less certain what exactly he means by focus. It’s possible Harbaugh is referencing Tennessee’s Title IX lawsuit, which has levied some serious allegations against Jones.
Harbaugh—who has drawn the ire from other coaches for his methods—will be conducting practices at the IMG Academy through March 6.
