Georgia QB Aaron Murray tears ACL vs. Kentucky to end college career

Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray will undergo surgery on Tuesday for a torn ACL suffered in Saturday's win over Kentucky, the school confirmed to Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald. The injury ends the senior's career with the Bulldogs.

Murray went down after Wildcats defensive lineman Za'Darius Smith hit him late in the second quarter of the Bulldogs' 59-17 win over the Wildcats. Murray was helped off the field by trainers and the school later announced that he sustained a left knee injury.

In less than two quarters of action, Murray completed 18-of-23 passes for 183 yards with four touchdowns and an interception. Georgia junior Hutson Mason took over at quarterback following Murray's departure, finishing 13-of-19 for 189 yards and a touchdown. Mason is set to start in the Bulldogs' regular-season finale against Georgia Tech.

On Sunday morning Murray offered thanks to the Georgia fan base on Twitter.
