Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer told reporters Tuesday that regardless of how freshman J.T. Barrett plays this season, he will not take Braxton Miller's starting quarterback job in 2015.

From ESPN:

"Braxton is our quarterback," Meyer told reporters. "To be fair to Braxton, Big Ten Player of the Year. But it's good to know we've got both of them."

Miller is out for the 2014 season after tearing the labrum in his right shoulder in August. Miller originally injured his shoulder in Ohio State’s loss to Clemson in the Orange Bowl in January. The quarterback missed Ohio State's spring practice after having surgery in February.

Miller, who was named one of the team's captains for 2014, had surgery on his shoulder a week after he injured it.

Miller is the the two-time defending Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.

The No. 20 Buckeyes are 3-1 this season. Barrett has completed 63.6 percent of his passes for 1,087 yards and 13 touchdowns. He has also thrown five interceptions.
