Maryland was assessed a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct after captains Sean Davis, P.J. Gallo and Stefon Diggs refused to shake hands at the coin toss prior to Saturday's game against Penn State at Beaver Stadium.

The Terrapins kicked off from the 20-yard line.

There was some tension between the two teams before the game, with multiple Penn State and Maryland players grabbing one another in a skirmish.

This is Maryland's first season in the Big Ten.
