Report: Maryland's Stefon Diggs has lacerated kidney, likely out for season
Maryland wide receiver Stefon Diggs suffered a lacerated kidney against Penn State on Nov. 1 and might be done for the rest of the regular season, reports TheBaltimore Sun.
Diggs, a junior and preseason first-team Big Ten selection, was injured in the fourth quarter of Maryland's 20-19 victory after stretching out for a catch.
He left the game briefly after receiving medical attention, but returned for the next series. It’s Diggs’ second major injury in the past two seasons. He broke his right leg last October, missing the team’s last seven games and this season's spring practices.
Maryland (6-3, 3-2 Big Ten) plays Michigan State at home on Saturday and Diggs would have not played in the game anyway after being suspended one game by the Big Ten Conference for violating the conference’s sportsmanship policy. Diggs made contact with an official during a pre-game scuffle with Penn State after players from Maryland refused to shake hands with the Nittany Lions.

The Big Ten also reprimanded head coach Randy Edsall for failing to control his team and fined the school $10,000 for the violation.
Diggs has 52 catches for 654 yards and five touchdowns this season and is also averaging 24 yards per kick return. Sophomore Jacquille Veii (six receptions, 108 yards, one touchdown) is next on the depth chart for Maryland.
Maryland finishes up their regular season on Nov. 22 on the road against Michigan and with a Nov. 29 home date with Rutgers.
