Louisville unveils new jerseys for Armed Forces Classic

Ahead of this weekend's Armed Forces Classic aboard the U.S.C.G. Air Station Borinquen in Puerto Rico, Louisville unveiled new adidas camouflage jerseys on Tuesday.

In addition to the Cardinals' traditional red-and-white scheme, the uniforms will sport light-blue trim on the jerseys and stripes on the shorts. "Semper Paratus," the U.S. Coast Guard's official motto, which means "Always Ready" in Latin, is scrawled across the nameplate of the jerseys.

The third-annual Armed Forces Classic tips off Friday at 6 p.m. ET and pits the Cardinals against the Minnesota Gophers in both teams' season opener. Louisville head coach Rick Pitino also gets to coach against his son, Minnesota's Richard Pitino. Minnesota and Louisville have faced each other four times, most recently in 2008 when Minnesota came away with a 70-64 upset win.

The Pitinos have coached against each other once before, when Richard's Florida International team fell to Rick's Cardinals 79-55 in 2012.

Louisville enters the season as a consensus top-10 team, but lost guard Russ Smith to the NBA. Minnesota is unranked but received votes in both the AP and Coaches Polls.
