Five-star quarterback Malik Henry commits to Florida State
Malik Henry, a heralded quarterback prospect who attends Westlake (Calif.) High, announced Thursday on ESPNU that he has verbally committed to Florida State.
Henry, who had narrowed his choices to the Seminoles, Ohio State, UCLA and Notre Dame, is the No. 2 pro-style quarterback and No. 9 player in the class of 2016, according to rankings on the recruiting website Rivals.com.
As a sophomore at Westlake, Henry passed for 2,362 yards with 21 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, according to MaxPreps. The 6-foot-2, 174-pound signal caller says he also plans to play baseball at Florida State.

"It was a tough decision but I finally realized it was Florida State a week or two ago, after talking to Coach Fisher and reminiscing about my trip there." Henry told ESPN.com. "I felt comfortable at Florida State and around Tallahassee."
Between their 2015 and 2016 recruiting classes, the Seminoles have received verbal commitments from four quarterbacks. Senior prospects Deondre Francois, De'Andre Johnson and Kai Locksley received four-star ratings, while junior Henry received five stars.
Including Henry, Florida State has received commitments from five players in the class of 2016.
