Syracuse quarterback Terrel Hunt will be sidelined the rest of the season, coach Scott Schafer said on Thursday.

Hunt suffered a fractured fibula in the fourth quarter of the Orange's Oct. 3 loss to Louisville

Over five games this season, Hunt, a redshirt junior, completed 83 of his 145 pass attempts for 983 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions. He also added 307 rushing yards and a team-high six touchdowns on the ground.

From Syracuse.com:

"Terrel's down," Shafer said. "He's getting better, it's just that bones heal differently in each kid. He won't be available for the rest of the season, but he's doing a nice job with school, he's adjusted to the situation well and he's helping us with the young guys. He's been very attentive to meetings, but he won't be available."

In Hunt's absence, true freshman AJ Long has completed 56.2 percent of his pass attempts for 727 yards with four touchdowns and five interceptions over four games, three of which he started.

Syracuse (3-7, 1-5 ACC) plays road games at Pitt and Boston College to close out the season.
