Kansas G Conner Frankamp transferring to Wichita State
Kansas transfer Conner Frankamp is headed to Wichita State, according to The Wichita Eagle.
Frankamp will have to enroll for the second semester at Wichita State in order to be eligible following the first semester of the 2015-16 season. He will then be eligible for the remainder of that season, as well as 2016-17 and 2017-18.
The Jayhawks announced on Halloween that Frankamp, a 6-foot-1 sophomore point guard, would transfer from the school. After averaging 2.5 points in 8.3 minutes per game last season, Frankamp was expected to compete for playing time in a busy Kansas backcourt that includes sophomores Frank Mason III, Wayne Selden and Brannen Greene, and freshmen Devonte' Graham and Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk.
According to the Eagle, Frankamp also considered Colorado and Creighton.
“I think Coach (Gregg) Marshall can improve my game quite a bit,” Frankamp said. “I’ve been very impressed with how Ron (Baker) and Fred (VanVleet) have developed as players. I think they have a good chance to get to the league (NBA).”
Frankamp came on strong last season, scoring 10 and 12 points in Kansas' NCAA tournament games against Eastern Kentucky and Stanford, respectively. Stanford knocked Kansas out of the tournament in the third round.

Frankamp is a Wichita, Kan., native who was a four-star recruit by Scout.com coming out of Wichita North High.
In the statement released by the school announcing his transfer, Frankamp said acknowledged Kansas' deep roster as a reason for his transfer.
"I've been thinking about this for a while now," Frankamp said. "I love KU and I love the Jayhawks. I feel like I've improved quite a bit since I've been here. I love my teammates but I just don't feel like it's the right fit for me. We have many good guards and so many big-time players. I want to be at a place where I could play a bigger role."
