Wofford defeated N.C. State on the road Sunday after a three-point shot at the buzzer by the Wolfpack's Trevor Lacey was waved off.

After Justin Gordon put Wofford up 55-54 with 1.9 seconds remaining, Lacey was able to put up a desperation heave right past the three-point line. His shot went in, and the Wolfpack bench rushed the court in celebration, thinking they had won.

Referees then reviewed the play and ruled that the ball left Lacey's hands a hair too late.

Lacey, who led all scorers with 18 points, looked shocked upon hearing that his shot did not count.
