Report: Florida QB Jeff Driskel considering transfer to Duke
Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel is exploring the option of pursuing a graduate transfer, according to a report from Laura Keeley of The News & Observer.
Duke is one of of the schools Driskel is considering, the report said. The Blue Devils are reportedly allowed to contact Driskel -- who would be eligible immediately -- after he sent them a release.
Driskel led Duke to an 11-2 record in 2012 but played in only three games in 2013 and was overtaken by freshman Treon Harris as the starting quarterback in October of this season.
Over 28 games with the Gators, Driskel has completed 59.8 percent of his passes for 3,368 yards and 23 touchdowns with 20 interceptions. He has also recorded 642 rushing yards and nine scores on the ground.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound redshirt junior is a former four-star recruit who reportedly drew scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn and Clemson, among other programs.
Anthony Boone, Duke's current starter at quarterback, will move on this offseason after exhausting his eligibility. Other quarterbacks on the Blue Devils' roster include redshirt sophomore Thomas Sirk and redshirt freshman Parker Boehme.
