Georgia head coach Mark Richt dismisses retirement rumors
Georgia head coach Mark Richt says he doesn't plan on retiring and quickly put to rest rumors that he was stepping down.
After Georgia's 37-14 rout of Louisville in the Belk Bowl on Tuesday, speculation in social media and several news outlets caused school officials to dismiss any talk about Richt leaving Georgia.
"I have no idea (where that came from)," Richt said, according to Fox Sports.
Richt was then asked if he is coming back to the school next season.
"That's the plan," Richt said. "Go ask the team. Nick (Chubb), did I retire?"
Richt has been at Georgia for the past 14 seasons and has a 138-45 career record. He has taken the Bulldogs to 13 bowl appearances in his 14 years and two SEC titles.
"Coaching is a very rewarding job, but it'll test you," Richt said. "I think the goal is to do the best of your ability in coaching the players. It's not really about having fun, but there are times when it can be fun."
