Report: Notre Dame QB Everett Golson inquired about transfer to LSU
Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson has reached out to LSU about possibly transferring to the school for his final year of eligibility next season, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Golson is scheduled to graduate in May and would be eligible to play immediately in 2015 per the NCAA's graduate transfer rule, but his academic suspension from Notre Dame in 2013 could complicate the matter.
LSU is exploring the possibility [of a Golson transfer] but would have to obtain a waiver from the conference office since Golson was declared academically ineligible for the 2013 season. The SEC rule allows graduate student transfers without waivers if the student maintained eligibility, had no significant disciplinary issues at the old school and earned all possible APR points.

In an apparent response to the report, Golson tweeted "Don't believe everything you hear" on Monday afternoon.
Golson led Notre Dame to the national championship as a redshirt freshman in 2012. After regaining his starting role following his reinstatement to the school earlier this year, Golson helped the team begin this season 6-0.
But the Fighting Irish lost five of their next six games as Golson struggled with turnovers, finishing with 14 interceptions and eight fumbles on the year. Backup Malik Zaire, a redshirt freshman, started for Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl against LSU, which the Irish won 31-28.
Over two career seasons, Golson has combined to throw for 5,850 yards, 41 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.

Notre Dame and LSU both finished 8-5 this season.
