Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim: Center DaJuan Coleman (knee) will redshirt
Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said Monday junior center DaJuan Coleman will redshirt this season as he recovers from knee surgery, the Syracuse Post-Standard's Donna Ditota reports.
Coleman, 22, had osteo-articular transfer system surgery on his left knee last January. He averaged 4.3 points and 4.2 rebounds in 12 starts as a sophomore.
While Coleman had expressed optimism about playing this season, Boeheim closed that door on Monday.

"He's had some soreness and stiffness the last couple practices," SU coach Jim Boeheim said today on the ACC Conference call. "He's not going to play this year."
"It's official as far as I'm concerned," Boeheim said, "unless something radical happens, except I don't think it will."
Freshman center Chris McCullough has started all 14 games for the Orange this season, averaging 10.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
Syracuse defeated Virginia Tech in its ACC opener on Saturday and is 10-4 on the season. The Orange play at Georgia Tech on Wednesday.
