Report: Florida has dismissed freshman DL Gerald Willis
The Florida Gators have dismissed freshman defensive lineman Gerald Willis from the team, according to a report from Mark Wheeler at InsidetheGators.com.
A statement released by Florida's University Athletic Association on Tuesday said only that Willis would be transferring from the program.
Willis, originally from New Orleans, appeared in eight games for the Gators during the 2014 season, making 14 tackles.
In October, Willis got into a fight with Skyler Mornhinweg, Florida's backup quarterback, over a pair of Mornhinweg's missing cleats. Police were called to the scene, but neither player pressed charges.

Former head coach Will Muschamp decided not to discipline either player, saying the incident was "a total misunderstanding" that had been "completely blown out of proportion."
Willis, a five-star recruit when he joined the Gators, also got in trouble during Florida's Nov. 29 game against Florida State. He incurred a personal-foul penalty for standing out of bounds and pushing FSU quarterback Jameis Winston in the face.
Zach Abolverdi of the Gainsville Sunhas reported that Willis hopes to transfer to Texas A&M. Speedy Noil, Willis' former Karr high school teammate is a starting wide receiver in Lubbock.
The Gators finished the season 4-4 in the SEC and 7-5 overall. Florida finished in third place in the SEC East and beat East Carolina in the Birmingham Bowl, 28-20.
