A quarterback coach who has worked with Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson denied that the junior is contemplating transferring to LSU.

Numerous professional and college quarterbacks have sought out the services of George Whitfield, Jr., including 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. Whitfield went to Twitter to address the rumor, saying that any reports of Golson leaving “are simple untrue.”

The New Orleans Times-Picayunereported that Golson had contacted LSU about possibly playing his final season in Baton Rouge.

Golson tweeted "Don't believe everything you hear" on Monday afternoon in response to that report.

Golson is on track to graduate from Notre Dame and could use his one season of eligibility to play at another school by using the NCAA’s graduate transfer rule.

He and Whitfield worked together during the time that Golson was suspended from the university after being found guilty of academic misconduct.

As a redshirt freshman, Golson led the Irish to the BCS national championship game. This season, Golson completed 60 percent of his passes for 3,445 yards with 29 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
