Top recruit Carlton Bragg commits to Kansas, but says 'Kentucky'
Carlton Bragg, a heralded senior prospect from Cleveland, Ohio, announced on Thursday that he has verbally committed to Kansas.
Bragg is the No. 14 player in the class of 2015, according to the recruiting website Rivals.com. He had reportedly narrowed his choices to the Jayhawks, Illinois and Kentucky.
Maybe that's why Bragg accidentally said he was committing to Kentucky during his announcement, even while putting on a Jayhawks hat. The embarrassed teen, covered his face with his hands and corrected himself.
Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Eric Bossi described Bragg's strengths in an interview with JayhawkSlant.com:
"Bragg is an athletic four man who has all of the physical tools that you look for in a high end prospect," said Bossi. "Great size for his position, long arms and a body to build on. To go along with his physical tools and athletic gifts, Bragg has a nice set of skills. He can shoot with range, finishes with either hand around the bucket and is a good positional rebounder and shot blocker.
"He has some explosiveness to his offensive game where he will be quiet for a stretch and then start scoring in bunches when he has his inside and outside game working together," he added.
The 6-foot-9, 225-pound Bragg is the first player in the class of 2015 to commit to Kansas.
The Jayhawks' 2014 recruiting class counted four members, including three who, like Bragg, received five-star ratings.
