Dan Enos leaves Central Michigan to be Arkansas offensive coordinator
Central Michigan head coach Dan Enos has resigned to take the offensive coordinator job at Arkansas, according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation. Enos informed his team of the move at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Enos went 26-36 in five years at Central Michigan, reaching bowl games in two of the past three seasons. The Chippewas lost to Western Kentucky 49-48 in the Bahamas Bowl on Christmas Eve.
Enos replaces Jim Chaney, who left Arkansas to become the coordinator for Pat Narduzzi at Pittsburgh. Enos has extensive experience on the offensive side of the ball, including serving as the offensive coordinator at North Dakota State (2003), the quarterbacks coach at Cincinnati (’04-05) and Michigan State (’06) and the running backs coach at Michigan State (’07-09). He worked for the Spartans until he was named the head coach at Central Michigan in January ’10.
Arkansas is poised for a strong season on offense in 2015. It returns quarterback Brandon Allen and tailbacks Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams.
