High school bans Louisville's Bobby Petrino from recruiting players
A South Carolina high school has banned Louisville football coach Bobby Petrino from recruiting players after the Cardinals pulled a scholarship offer for one of its players.
Dutch Fork High School football coach Tom Knotts told GoUpstate.com that Petrino was no longer welcome at his school after Louisville retracted an offer for running back Matt Colburn because the school felt it needed more defensive backs.
"That is not the way to do business and if that's the way to do business we don't want to deal with them," Knotts said, according to GoUpstate.com. "He [Petrino] won't be able to recruit my school anymore and I imagine there will be some other coaches that will say the same thing. Trust factor is just not there."
Colburntold the Louisville Courier-Journal that he was not pleased the Cardinals had reneged on their offer.

"It's been about eight months now that I've been committed, and I feel kind of short-changed because I got this [commitment and recruitment] taken care of even before the season started so I wouldn't have to worry about this anymore," he said, according to the report. "But I guess that's just the way it is sometimes."
The Cardinals offered Colburn, who is listed as a three-star recruit by Rivals, the ability to defer his enrollment at Louisville until January, but Colburn said he didn't want to sit out for a year. Knotts told GoUpstate.com that the running back was now talking to Wake Forest, Navy, Charleston Southern, Georgia Southern and Kent State.
