Greg Anthony reaches deal on prostitution charge
Suspended basketball analyst Greg Anthony has reached an agreement with prosecutors on a misdemeanor prostitution charge, reports the Associated Press.
Anthony will have the charge dropped if he completes 32 hours of community service and stays out of trouble for the next four months.
Anthony, 47, was in the Washington, D.C., area to announce a college basketball game between Michigan State and Maryland when was arrested for soliciting a prostitute at a Washington hotel on Jan. 16.
Anthony faced up to 180 days in jail on the misdemeanor solicitation charge had he went to trial and been convicted.
He was suspended from his jobs with CBS and Turner Sports following his arrest. Anthony apologized to his family, saying it was a “lapse of judgment.”
Anthony was replaced on this year’s Final Four broadcast by Bill Raftery and former NBA player Grant Hill.
