Report: Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim plans to appeal suspension
Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim plans to appeal a suspension handed down as part of the NCAA's sanctions against Syracuse athletics, reports ESPN's Andy Katz.
The NCAA released its findings from its investigation into the school on Friday.
The association found that Boeheim failed "to promote an atmosphere of compliance and monitor his staff."
Boeheim will be forced to sit out the first nine ACC games of the 2015-16 season.

In addition, 108 of Syracuse's wins during Boeheim's tenure were vacated, dropping his career wins total from 966, good for second all-time, to 858 (sixth).
In a statement responding to the NCAA's report, Syracuse Chancellor Kent Syverud said the school "strongly disagrees" that Boeheim "has taken actions that justify a finding that he was responsible for the rules violations."
Britton Banowsky, the NCAA's chief hearing officer in the case, said on a conference call on Friday that it's "not enough to say I thought they knew the rules and thought they were following the rules."
