Duke jumps Virginia in latest AP poll; Kentucky remains No. 1

Duke jumped Virginia to take over the No. 2 spot behind Kentucky in this week's AP Top 25 after the Blue Devils beat North Carolina on Saturday. 

Virginia lost on the road to Louisville, only the Cavaliers' second loss of the season. Two-loss Villanova, which beat St. John's 105-68 on Saturday, and Arizona round out the top five.

Wichita State dropped from No. 8 to No. 12 after its loss to Illinois State in the Missouri Valley Conference semifinals.

PRUNTY: Madness begins early with wild Saturday

Murray State, which lost to Belmot in the Ohio Valley Conference championship game, fell out of the top 25, as did Providence, Ohio State and SMU.

Davidson makes it first appearance in the rankings this week. The Wildcats are ranked No. 24 after defeating Duquesne, 107-78, on the road Saturday to clinch the Atlantic 10 regular season title in their first season in the conference.
