Kansas forward Perry Ellis out vs. TCU with knee injury
Kansas junior forward Perry Ellis will not play in the team’s quarterfinal game of the Big 12 Tournament against TCU on Thursday because of a knee injury, the school said.
Ellis did not play in the team’s season-ending loss to Oklahoma because of a sprained right knee but was cleared to practice this week.
Ellis, a first-team All-Big 12 selection, is averaging 14.2 points and seven rebounds for Kansas (24-7). Jayhawks coach Bill Self said Ellis could play on Friday if Kansas beats the Horned Frogs.

Self said during Wednesday’s practice that sophomore guard Wayne Selden will play against TCU despite being bothered by a sore ankle and that sophomore guard Brannen Greene will play after serving a one-game suspension.
Self did not give any updates on the status of freshman forward Cliff Alexander, who hasn’t played since Feb. 28 while the NCAA investigates potential impermissible benefits received by relatives.
