Mississippi State will play BYU in 2016 and 2017 as part of a two-game, home-and-home series agreed upon by the two schools, according to ESPN's Brett McMurphy.

According to sources that spoke with ESPN, the game will be played at BYU in 2016 and at Mississippi State in 2017.

The news came soon after the SEC announced that playing against BYU, Notre Dame or Army would fulfill a scheduling requirement adopted by the conference that requires member schools to play at least one team from a non-SEC Power 5 conference or an FBS independent school.
