The school extended his contract in 2014 after Dayton made it to the Elite Eight. That deal was through the 2018-19 season.

“It’s very humbling. It’s a privilege to coach at a place like this,” Miller told the Dayton Daily News. “Me and my family feel really grateful. (Athletic Director) Tim (Wabler) has been outstanding to work with. There’s not a day that’s gone by that we haven’t had everything we need to be successful. One of the big reasons we are successful is because of our administration.”

In four seasons at Dayton, the 36-year-old Miller has a 90-47 record, including a 27-9 record this season.

The Flyers' season ended with a third round loss to Oklahoma in the East Region. Dayton has won five NCAA tournament games the last two seasons, one of only six programs to accomplish that feat.

"Having our men's basketball program perform successfully at the national level is a priority for our institution, and only a handful of teams have won as many NCAA games as the Flyers in the last two seasons,” Dayton athletic director Tim Wabler said.

The team will return four starters from this season’s team in 2015-16.
