Kansas guard Wayne Selden Jr. returning for junior season
Kansas sophomore Wayne Selden Jr. has decided to return for his junior season, the school announced on Friday.
Over 34 games this season, Selden averaged 9.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 38.2 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from three-point range.
He helped the Jayhawks win at least a share of their 11th consecutive Big 12 title, earn a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament and finish with a 27-9 record.
"Wayne is such a great kid and competitor and feels that there are so many things to accomplish, not only as an individual, but as a team," Kansas coach Bill Self said in a news release. "He is committed to this program and I know he'll work his tail off to put himself into in a spot to be a high (NBA) draft pick, hopefully next year, and put our team into position to have another great year."
The 6'5'', 230-pound guard is ranked 75th in DraftExpress's list of top 100 prospects and 21st in its list of college sophomores.
