Calipari: Kentucky's top goal getting players drafted, not championship
Kentucky men's basketball coach John Calipari told guests at a question-and-answer session at Rupp Arena Wednesday that the team's primary goal in the 2014-15 season was not to win a championship, but instead to get eight players drafted in the 2015 NBA draft, according to CBSSports.
"Their dreams become our dreams," Calipari said at the Q&A, referring to his players.
"Last year we started the season with a goal. You may think that goal was to win the national title. Win all the games. It was to get eight players drafted. 'Well, how can you be about your team if you're worried about players getting drafted?' Well, we kind of work it the other way. What are you dreams? What are you looking for? What are you trying to get out of life? How can we help you with that?"

Calipari has helped 26 players get drafted by NBA teams in the past six seasons. In 2010, five of his players were taken in the draft's first round alone.
Kentucky was an overwhelming favorite to win the 2015 NCAA tournament, but lost in the Final Four to Wisconsin.
