Four-star WR Austin Mack commits to Ohio State
Ohio State landed a verbal commitment from four-star, Fort Wayne, Ind., wide receiver Ausitn Mack on Sunday.
Mack, a 6'2", 205-pound receiver from Bishop Luers High School, visited the Buckeyes’ recruiting camp in Columbus, Ohio, last weekend. Rivals.com credits wide receivers coach Zach Smith and cornerbacks coach and special teams coordinator Kerry Coombs for landing Mack’s commitment.
Mack is ranked as the No. 1 player out of Indiana in the class of 2016 by Rivals.com, as well as the class’s No. 43 wide receiver and No. 208 player overall. He chose Ohio State over scholarship offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee and other schools.

Mack is the Buckeyes’ 16th verbal commitment for 2016 and the first wide receiver.
“Ohio State is one of the best places in America,” Mack told ElevenWarriors.com. “To be able to be an Urban Meyer recruit and have the expectations to come in and play right away is huge. He was even at my commitment, which is not what a head coach does often. He and Coach Smith being here, it shows how real the relationship is. Their academics fit great and will help me get to where I want to end up. The campus is beautiful, everything about it was right. I’m going to enjoy my time there.”
