Kansas five-star recruit and incoming freshman Cheick Diallo is still waiting on his eligibility ruling from the NCAA.

Diallo, a 6'9" power forward, has yet to be cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center, according to the Kansas City Star. Kansas head coach Bill Self declined to speak in detail on the matter, but confirmed that the school continues to wait on a ruling from the NCAA.

“I don't anticipate this being cleared up in the near future,” Self told the Star. The questions reportedly center around Diallo's high school career at Our Savior New American School, a private school in Centereach, N.Y. Diallo is a native of Mali and attended the school for four years.

The NCAA's Eligibility Center website says the high school is under an “extended evaluation period” regarding its academic requirements. Diallo has been accepted by Kansas admissions and enrolled in summer school in Lawrence. Self told the Star that Diallo has completed six credit hours already.

Rivals.com rated Diallo the No. 5 player in the Class of 2015.
