Texas will charge Texas Tech band under new agreement
The University of Texas will charge the Texas Tech marching band for the price of admission when the Red Raiders visit the Longhorns on Nov. 26 under a new agreement between the teams, according to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.
This game marks the first time that the Texas athletic department has charged the Goin’ Band, but it is as part of a new agreement and not an unexpected change in policy, as was implied by earlier reports.
The Texas Tech band will have to pay $100 per member.
The rivalry between the Longhorns and Red Raiders has been historically lopsided towards the school from Austin. Even with Texas slumping in recent years, Texas Tech has managed only two wins since 1999.
Last season, the Longhorns took down the Red Raiders 34–13, bringing their all-time head-to-head record to 49–15.
