Watch: LSU RB Leonard Fournette runs all over Syracuse
Leonard Fournette may still be running through upstate New York. The Heisman contender rushed 26 times for 244 yards and two touchdowns on the road against Syracuse.
It comes a week after his 228-yard performance against Auburn.
Fournette became the first RB in LSU history to achieve the 200 yard mark on the ground in consecutive games. He’s one of just three LSU backs with multiple 200-yard rushing games, joining Kevin Faulk (4) and Charles Alexander (2).
And this wasn't just Fournette running all over some cupcake in a blowout. The game was close throughout, but Fournette carried the LSU offense at critical times, helping to beat Syracuse 34–24.
In the first quarter, Fournette somehow turned a sack into a 48-yard run, racing towards quarterback Brandon Harris to grab the ball and take it towards the sideline.
Later in the quarter, he ran it in from 14 yards out.
In the third quarter, he ran it in from 62 yards out for his second score of the game.
Later in the quarter, he broke off this ridiculous 87-yard run that was called back due to a penalty.
Can you say Heisman? LSU legend Shaquille O’Neal can.
