Salisbury nearly broke the Division III for points in a game on Saturday, beating Southern Virginia 91–6.

The Seagulls only completed two passes in the game and had 10 different players score touchdowns.

One score came on a 48-yard pass and eight others came on the ground. Salisbury also scored on a fumble recovery in the end zone.

Junior Aarron Moore led the team with 104 rushing yards on four carries and scored a team-high three touchdowns.

The Seagulls’ point total is the second-highest in a D-III game, surpassed only by Concordia-Moorhead’s 97 points in a 1977 game. Rockford University scored 105 points in a 2003 game against Trinity Bible College, which is not a member of the NCAA.

Southern Virginia only recently moved up to Division III from the NAIA. Last year was the Knights’ first D-III season and they went 1–9.
