Utah wide receiver Tim Patrick will miss the remainder of the season with a leg injury, head coach Kyle Whittingham announced Monday.

Patrick, a senior, originally injured his leg last November in a 51–27 loss to Oregon. In his attempt to return to the field this year, Patrick experienced a setback in his recovery and was subsequently sidelined by the impediment.

The 21-year-old will seek a medical redshirt from the NCAA in order to receive another year of eligibility.

Patrick walked on at Utah after spending two seasons at Grossmont College in El Cajon, Calif., and soon after earned a scholarship. He caught 16 passes for 177 yards for the Utes in 2014.

While at Grossmont, Patrick was a first team All-PCAC selection.

The No. 13 Utes (6–1) will host the Oregon State Beavers (2–5) on Saturday.
