How does No. 3 Ohio State keep moving up in the College Football Playoff rankings without having played or beaten any good teams? The Buckeyes face two tough games over the next two weeks against No. 9 Michigan State and at No. 12 Michigan.

Setting aside their games against a common opponent (Texas), which team has a better résumé: Oklahoma or Notre Dame? Let’s pump the brakes. Neither of these teams is likely to make the playoff unless it wins out.

Why would people assume Notre Dame and Oklahoma will win out? Oklahoma still has to face No. 18 TCU and No. 6 Oklahoma State, while Notre Dame has remaining games against Boston College and No. 11 Stanford.

Why does everybody keep bringing up the rain when discussing Notre Dame’s loss to Clemson in October? Both teams had to deal with the rain. The Irish fell 24-22 after failing to convert a two-point conversion with under 10 seconds remaining.
