Houston Cougars wide receiver Demarcus Ayers made an impressive one-handed catch against the Navy Midshipmen on Friday for a 62-yard touchdown.

With Houston ahead 31–17 late in the third quarter, quarterback Greg Ward, Jr. lobbed a pass twenty yards down the middle of the field to Ayers. While on the run, Ayers extended his right hand into the air to pull in the pass in stride. Then, he blew by two Navy defenders, angled down the left sideline and took the ball another 40 yards to put the Cougars up by three scores.

The catch was Ayers’s seventh of the day, bringing his total to 163 yards.

Navy answered with an ensuing seven-play, 82-yard drive to make the score 38–24.

Ayers came right back on the next drive with a passing touchdown on a trick play.
