Georgia is expected to name Alabama’s Kirby Smart their new head football coach, according to Chip Towers of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Smart has been Alabama’s defensive coordinator since the 2008 season, winning the Broyles award for the nation’s top assistant in 2009, and the AFCA’s Assistant Coach of the Year award in 2012.

He played his college football with the Bulldogs from 1995–98, and was a four-year letterman, earning first-team All-SEC honors in his senior year.
