Oregon WR Bralon Addison declares for the NFL draft

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) Oregon wide receiver Bralon Addison has announced that he will skip his final year of eligibility to declare for the NFL draft.

Addison made the announcement Monday in a statement on the school's website, thanking the Ducks' coaches, staff, friends and teammates for their support.

''I came here as a kid who wanted nothing more than to play football at a high level,'' he said. ''In the process, so much more has happened. I think I have become more mature, a better person and a better Christian and most importantly a better man.''

As a junior this season, Addison led Oregon's receivers with 63 receptions for 804 yards and 10 touchdowns.

After a sophomore season with 890 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, Addison was injured in spring practice and missed all of the 2014 season, including Oregon's appearance in the first College Football Playoff.

''We're appreciative of Bralon's contributions and commitment over the last four years, and wish him continued success at the next level,'' Oregon coach Mark Helfrich said.
