Texas A&M AD Eric Hyman backs head coach Kevin Sumlin
Texas A&M athletic director Eric Hyman reiterated his support for head coach Kevin Sumlin in an interview with SportsDay of The Dallas Morning News.
“At no time have we ever thought about it and discussed it,” Hyman said in response to a question about Sumlin’s future. “That’s about as clear as you can be. We’ve got to be realistic here - if you look at what Kevin has accomplished in the four years he’s been here from a historical standpoint, it’s at the top. This is a brutal league. It’s a 12-round boxing match every time you go out on a Saturday. It’s good news-bad news. Good news it’s the best league in the country. Bad news it's the best league in the country.”

The Aggies finished the season 8–5 before losing to the Louisville Cardinals 27–21 in the Music City Bowl.
Before the bowl game, quarterbacks Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray announced they would be transferring.
The school has also parted ways with offensive coordinator Jake Spavital.
Sumlin has $20 million remaining on his contract, which takes him through the 2019 season.
