Final AP Poll: Alabama finishes No. 1 for 10th time; Stanford, OSU move up
Alabama has finished No. 1 in the final Associated Press Top 25 poll for the 10th time.
The Crimson Tide beat the Clemson Tigers, 45–40, on Monday night to win the College Football Playoff championship, their fourth title in the past seven years.
After an undefeated regular season allowed Clemson to lead the poll for most of the season, the Tigers finished in the No. 2 spot.
The most notable upward jumps in the rankings were secured by Stanford and Ohio State. Stanford moved from No. 5 to No. 3 after beating Iowa in the Rose Bowl, and Ohio State climbed from No. 7 to No. 4 after its victory over Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl.
Michigan State dropped from No. 3 to No. 6 thanks to its shutout loss to Alabama in the Cotton Bowl.
