Virginia senior Malcolm Brogdon has been named the ACC Player of the Year, the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association announced on Saturday.

He was also selected as the Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the first player in conference history to win both awards in the same season.

Brogdon led the Cavaliers with 18.4 points per game, adding 2.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds. He got the nod over North Carolina senior and fellow all-ACC selection Brice Johnson.

Duke’s Brandon Ingram was chosen as ACC Freshman of the Year, and Miami head coach Jim Larranaga was named ACC Coach of the Year after the Hurricanes went 13–5 in conference play.

Virginia will face either Georgia Tech or Clemson in the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.
