Oklahoma State to part ways with head coach Travis Ford

Oklahoma State and head men's basketball coach Travis Ford have mutually agreed to part ways, the university announced.
The decision was first reported by John Helsley of NewsOK.com.
In eight seasons with the Cowboys, Ford compiled a 155—111 record. He leaves with three years and $7.2 in guaranteed salary remaining on his contract.
Oklahoma State finished the season with a 12–20 record that includes a 3–15 finish against Big 12 conference opponents.
Athletic director Mike Holder will head the university's search for a new coach.
“I like Travis Ford and his family,” Holder said in a statement. “He worked very hard at his job. Unfortunately, we have to move on.”

Early candidates who may be considered for the job include Stephen F. Austin's Brad Underwood, Arkansas-Little Rock's Chris Beard and Virginia Tech's Buzz Williams, according to Helsley.
