Denzel Valentine, Buddy Hield named unanimous All-America selections

Michigan State’s Denzel Valentine and Oklahoma’s Buddy Hield were named unanimous All-America selections Tuesday by the Associated Press.
Valentine averaged 19.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.6 assists for the Spartans, while Hield posted 25 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for the Sooners.
Joining Valentine and Hield on the first team squad are fellow seniors Brice Johnson of North Carolina and Malcolm Brogdon of Virginia, as well as Kentucky sophomore Tyler Ulis.
Utah’s Jakob Poeltl, LSU’s Ben Simmons, Kansas’s Perry Ellis, Providence’s Kris Dunn and Iowa State’s Georges Niang comprised the AP’s second team selections.
Duke’s Grayson Allen, Indiana’s Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell, Iowa’s Jarrod Uthoff, Oakland’s Kay Felder and Kentucky’s Jamal Murray made up the third team.
