Spike Albrecht will transfer to Purdue for final season

Former Michigan captain Spike Albrecht will transfer to Purdue to play his final season, he announced on Twitter Tuesday.
Albrecht will be immediately eligible to play for the Boilermakers.
The guard said in March that he was planning to transfer from Michigan after his senior season was cut short by injuries. He underwent two hip surgeries before the 2015–16 season and returned to play in just nine games before announcing he would step away from the team.
Michigan coach John Beilein had reportedly originally intended to block Albrecht from transferring to a Big Ten rival, but lifted all transfer restrictions in April, allowing Albrecht to enroll at Purdue.

Albrecht averaged 3.9 points and 2.0 assists per game in 116 career games at Michigan.
Purdue finished third in the Big Ten standings last season with a 26–8 record, while Michigan finished eighth at 22–12.
