The NCAA champion Villanova Wildcats paid a visit to the White House on Tuesday, and of course, were greeted by President Barack Obama.
Obama lauded the Wildcats as a “team for the ages,” discussing their on-court resilience and success in the classroom.
The players themselves were understandably excited and took a lot of photos. Obama made a lot of jokes, some of them bad (“I guess it’s the blue and white house today”), some of them a bit better (he called Jay Wright the George Clooney of coaches). Apparently Joe Biden picked Villanova. Obama also called Kris Jenkins’s game-winnger a “Christian Laettner shot.” High praise.
Watch a bit of Obama’s address to the team, as well as some moments from the day, below.
The team also celebrated with a Running Man Challenge.

Jalen Brunson apparently ran out of phone storage.
Bad timing.
