Baylor has dismissed running back Devin Chafin from the team, the Bears confirmed Wednesday.

In March, Chafin was arrested after he and another student allegedly brought marijuana to school after a spring break trip to Colorado. Chafin was suspended for the arrest.

In May, ESPN’s Outside the Lines reported Chafin allegedly assaulted a woman multiple times in 2014. Chafin played in nine of 13 games in the season following the alleged assault.

Baylor has come under widespread criticism for its handling of sexual assault and domestic violence cases in the wake of the OTL report and an independent review of such cases by the law firm Pepper Hamilton, both released last month.

Bears head coach Art Briles was fired in the wake of the scandal, while athletic director Ian McCaw resigned. Ken Starr was demoted from his role as president, then resigned from his position as chancellor on Monday.
