Mississippi State adds Jarrail Jackson to recruiting office
Former Davidson quarterbacks coach Jarrail Jackson is joining Mississippi State’s recruiting office, according to sources.
This past season was Jackson’s first at Davidson, where he was not retained. Prior to that, he spent three seasons at Washington State, including the last two as director of player relations.
Jackson coached wide receivers at Dartmouth from 2006–11 and was a volunteer assistant at Central Oklahoma in 2005. He got his start in coaching as an assistant at Chickasha (Okla.) High in 2004.
Jackson played in the AFL for six seasons and was a member of the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad from 2000–02. The Houston native was a wide receiver at Oklahoma from 1996–99.
Mississippi State went 9–4 with a victory in the Belk Bowl last season under eighth-year coach Dan Mullen. Led by star senior wide receiver Fred Ross, the Bulldogs have 13 starters back for the 2016 season and open the campaign Sept. 3 vs. South Alabama.
