Jonah Bolden leaves UCLA, will turn pro

UCLA forward Jonah Bolden is turning pro, the school announced Tuesday.
Bolden, 20, will forgo his last two years of eligibility and head overseas. Fox Sports’s Olgun Uluc reports Bolden will play a year in Europe before entering his name in the 2017 NBA draft. SNY’s Adam Zagoriareports Bolden will play in his native Australia next season.
Bolden played in 31 games as a freshman, making 11 starts and averaging 4.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He was expected to be a big contributor for the Bruins this season, although there were questions surrounding his eligibility. UCLA returns big men Thomas Welsh, Gyorgy Goloman and brings in freshman forward T.J. Leaf to help the frontcourt.
Bolden, who played high school ball at Findlay Prep and Brewster Academy, was a partial qualifier as a freshman and unable to participate in games, which set back his eligibility from the outset. He was the No. 25 player in the 2014 class according to Scout.com.
