When is the College Football Playoff?

2019 marks the fifth National Championship game of the College Football Playoff era.

The 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship game will take place on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019 at 8 p.m. ET at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

This season marks the fifth national championship game of the College Football Playoff era. At maximum capacity, Levi's Stadium can hold 75,000 spectators, which is just shy of the 79,000 average fan attendance for the past four national title games. 

Then-No. 4 Alabama defeated then-No. 3 Georgia, 26-23, in an overtime victory at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in the 2018 National title game. The Crimson Tide overcame a scoreless first half against the Bulldogs thanks to 2019 Heisman frontrunner, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa

The 2018-19 semifinal games will take place on Saturday, Dec. 29. The Capital One Orange Bowl will be played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. The Goodyear Cotton Bowl will take place in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium.
